Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disease of the skin, caused by changes in the pilo-sebaceous unit.

Acne lesions are commonly known as pimples, spots or zits. The condition is most common in puberty, especially among Western societies most likely due to a higher genetic predisposition.

The appearance of acne is considered an abnormal response to normal levels of the male hormone testosterone.

I

Acne in most people diminishes over time and tends to disappear or at least decrease after one reaches twenty years. However, there is no way to predict how long it will take to clear or acne completely be eliminated, and some individuals will continue to suffer from acne decades later, maybe even thirty or forty years or even a few you may suffer longer .

Acne affects a large percentage of humans at some point in their lives.

The most common form of acne is known as "acne vulgaris" or "common acne".

This type of acne occurs due to excessive oil secretion of the sebaceous glands and their combination with dead skin cells to block the hair follicles.

Also it appears in some cases a defective keratinization process in the skin, which causes abnormal detachment of the skin covering pores.

Oil secretions build up beneath the blocked pore, providing a perfect environment for bacteria it is how acne skin multiply uncontrollably.

In response, the skin inflames, producing the visible lesion, mainly affecting the face, chest, back, shoulders and arms.

Typical acne lesions are comedones, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts inflammatory.

The most common form of presentation are pus-filled bumps or red. Those who are not inflamed sebaceous cysts, more properly called epidermoid cysts, which occur either in association with acne or alone but are not a constant occurrence.

After treating injuries and get rid of acne, unsightly scars usually stay, so it's time to start a new treatment for acne scars. Aside from scarring, it is considered that the main effects of acne are psychological, such as reduced self-esteem and depression, especially because acne usually appears during adolescence, at which people tend to be most socially insecure and due to acne they may tend to be isolated further.
