There are several methods to mitigate the negative effects that duplicate content can cause positioning of our sites created with popular CMS Wordpress. If you do a quick search on Google you can find from which recommends adding the canonical tag to all items or recommended by editing the file, categories, archivesI
All this is fine and should be taken into account, are fundamental pillars here all right.I
But what happens when the content itself that creates duplicate content? In my case I have suffered since I manage a site created with Wordpress classified ads are the users themselves who in their eagerness to be more visible and in their view have more chances of success who generate continuously duplicate content, not knowing that this can go against and incidentally make the site lost reputation in the eyes of the almighty Google.I
Luckily I found a plugin that can help to mitigate the effects of duplicate content whether it is created by us and by our users, the plugin in question is called Random Number and its function is simply to generate a random combination of 7 numbers in the URL every time we post something. The best thing is that this plugin does not work on older posts leaving intact the structure of these, random number generated by the combination of numbers the newly created articles. Nor does it affect the category structure, files, pages, queries etc. !!I
In my opinion it is a great find and if you are suffering from duplicate content on your site will encourage you to try.I
Note: Random Number only has a "but .." does not work if you use a custom taxonomy in your site.
